Yarn Along.

I am still working on this purple blanket. I really love Wool and the Gang's yarn and the blanket will go perfect in my room and also will keep me warm in the cooler months. Even though right now, I can't even imagine cooler months, it's so hot here! I also plan on tripling this blanket so I need a few more balls of yarn, so hopefully I'll have this blanket  finished by the end of September or early August.

I have not been reading that much... I actually have given up on reading Mansfield Park. The book wasn't my cup of tea, even know I really enjoyed Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion. Maybe there was too may characters and I got lost. I am open to anyone's book suggestions, please let me know in the comments. I am super excited for school since it's my last year! Yikes! Have a happy Wednesday!

  1. It's hot here too Melissa so I really admire your fortitude in knitting a blanket at this time of year.

Karen just posted a book, Eleanor and Parks that you might enjoy, but she did say it's sad.

    When do you begin school?

  2. We are finally starting to have cool mornings here, which I am really welcoming. Your blanket will come in handy when it gets cooler-- and then you can snuggle up while you read! I have actually been really into young adult literature this summer... it sucks me in and breezes by! I am currently reading the reqiuem series

  3. Persuasion was definitely my favorite Jane Austen book. Have you read Emma?

  4. Persuasion is up there as one of my favorite books. Have you tried reading Jane Eyre? I think you might like it.

I'm currently listening to North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell and think you may like this one as well. The story line is along the same lines as Pride and Prejudice.

  6. love your blanket...now to recommendations. How about A tree grows in brooklyn? great expectations, or any of Dicken's stuff. If you haven't read the Book Thief yet you should, it's good. I loved Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. Anyways, good luck finding a book!! Finding one is one of my favorite activities.

  7. Lovely! What a pretty color. I have no recommendations at this point, as I'm in a bit of a slump too, but looks like you've gotten some good ones here!

  9. I third Jane Eyre!!!! It moved a bit slowly for me the first time I read it but I was so glad I stuck through it!!! The Little Women series by Louisa May Alcott is one of my favorites too. And I've never read a Charles Dickens book but the BBC adaptations of his books are always so intriguing so I'd say they're a good bet too :) Your blanket looks like it's coming along nicely :) Oh I also really liked the Anne of Green Gables series (I saw the movies when I was younger) and have always wanted to read the books, it was a romantic story!
