Yarn Along.

Finally! I have finished the blanket. About a month ago I blogged about the "almost finished" blanket. The last part I needed to do was sew a piece of fabric to the back of the blanket. Sounds easy right?! No it wasn't! It really threw me for a loop.

I can knit, but sewing is one of things that I want to be better at. Since I am sewing on a knitted item I needed to hand stitch the fabric onto the blanket. The problem was there is extra air between the fabric and blanket so sometimes it gets lumpy. While I was so sewing, I kept telling myself no one is perfect, so just keep moving on!

I really love that the fabric matches the yarn color. I like things to be matching, so it was huge plus to find fabric that matched! The chevron design wasn't my first choice I really wanted a floral print, but in the long run I am glad that I chose it.

I keep the blanket on the backboard of my bed. One of the reasons why I knitted this blanket is to use it during football games and when I am reading. I need to make it a habit of bringing it out, I just don't want it to get ruined (I am trying to let go of perfection!) Anyway book related, I have been listening to Wuthering Heights, it's kind of spooky but I am enjoying it.

What are you knitting and reading?

  2. I've never backed a yarn blanket with fabric. What a great idea! It looks incredibly warm and cosy :) Hope you can start getting some good use out of it.

  7. So cute! I've been curious about adding fabric to some of my crocheted blankets, yours turned out so well that I'm adding it to my to do list. (After I finish my Christmas creating!)
