Get Messy Week 15.

Since Christmas is coming and I am taking a break from Get Messy next Thursday because it's Thanksgiving, I decided to share a word that I want to be more. I want to be full of joy. Whatever my circumstance I want to have joy. Yes joy! Oh yes joy! This might become my One Little Word for the year of 2015.

Anyway back on to the project, I used watercolors to write joy. Watercolors are now one of my favorite art tools!

Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty girls are sharing art journal pages we have created to practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Get Messy Week 14.

Another get messy spread! This week I used watercolors to make a chevron pattern. I recently started using watercolors again and I have to say I love them. They are easy to work with and are fun! Hopefully I maybe can make paper products to put in my minibook.

On the second spread I used this stamp from the Underground kit. I kept it simple to focus on just the words. Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Get Messy Week 13.

Last week I took a break from Get Messy so I could document my #weekinthelife. Now I am back with a spread of words that speak to me this week. For the left page, I wrote a few words using a Sharpie. On the second page, I used watercolors and made diagonal lines. Simple spread but I love the look of the watercolors.

Get Messy Week 12.

I have been doing Get Messy for 12 weeks! This week's prompt was from the lovely Olya. The prompt stated to write about what we are grateful for and draw or use images to share about the things that we are grateful for. I really enjoyed this prompt and glad that I can use it in my journal.
This prompt made me think about things that I overlook. I realized that I should be grateful that I have 2 legs and I can walk. This something I overlook daily, but it's somethings that I do everyday. I am also grateful that I have clean water that comes out of my faucet. People all over the world don't have clean water, so this is another thing that I am grateful for. Last but not least I am grateful that Jesus loves me!

Get Messy Week 11.

Keeping the get messy pages simple this week. This week has been full of Act studying and writing a college essay and a letter to the administration office. Yay!

This week I used Dear Lizzy's floral paper and a stamp from Elise Cripe. The second page is my favorite because, I am keeping those words in my heart daily.

Get Messy Week 10.

I can't believe I have been doing Get Messy for 10 weeks! Time really does fly by!
For this spread I decided to use Dear Lizzy's cloud paper. I then painted a hot air balloon on the paper. Someday I would love to go on a hot air balloon. :)
I found the quote but what if i fall? Oh but darling what if you fly on instagram. The author of this quote is Emily Hanson. I really love this quote because it is so true to my life. For me, I have to not concentrate if I fail but if I succeed

Get Messy Week 9.

Yay another spread for Get Messy! This was my first time trying life scripted. I really love it! It took a couple of tries to the get this result, but I really enjoyed the process. I used a paint brush from home and the ink I used is called Speedball Super Black ink

The quote I used is from A.A. Milne the author of Winne the Pooh. I always thought his quotes were super sweet. Hope everyone has a happy Thursday!

Get Messy Week 8

The Get Messy's monthly prompt, was what would you love to do if you had the courage to try itI wrote my what I would love to do on a piece of white paper and used a Dear Lizzy paper for the background.  On the next page I used beach glass paint and created the stripes. The cute little pink flower is from my Citrus Twist Kits
If I had lots of courage I would love to start crocheting and ride on a roller coaster. I have never ridden on a roller coaster, I have always been to nervous. I want to laugh at myself when I make mistakes or if I do something funny. Lastly I need to stop worrying, worry will not add a day to your life!

Get Messy Week 7

I really love this layout! It's probably my favorite one! If you follow me on instagram I mentioned that I finished A Walk to Remember. It was one of the sweetest books I read, so of course I put my favorite quote. Why I liked this quote is the main character Jamie told Landon not to fall in love with her even know she knew he would. So sweet!
I also loved using Maggie Holmes floral paper. It is so pretty!

Get Messy Week 6

I love polka dots! So I was super excited to paint dots using some of my favorite colors. The layout is pretty simple. I painted dots using Martha Stewart's Beach Glass paint and Gold Metallic Paint. Also the stamp is from the Blue Grass Farm Kit
Hooray for dots! I really love that the colors blue and gold look perfect together.

Get Messy Week 5

My layout this week is pretty simple. I used some umbrella and rain thickers from Dear Lizzy and wrote a quote that I love in pen. This week has had it up's and downs, but knowing that I shouldn't concentrate on the bad, but instead look ahead. I really loved this spread and I believed captured my week.

I really loved the colors of the umbrella and the raindrops. They added a pop of color to the spread!

Get Messy Week 4

I am so excited about this spread! Caylee Grey gave us all a prompt for this week. The prompt was, who are you? If you had one page to show the world who you are what would you put in it? My hope is when you see this spread it reminds you of me!
For this page, I cut patterned paper from Dear Lizzy into circles. I used paper of things that I like which are hearts, strawberries, soft serve ice-cream, and polka-dots. I love flowers so I used a wood flower from American Crafts
This page is inspired by my favorite things. My favorite word is courage so I used these chipboard letters from Dear Lizzy. I then used a camper tag, because I love traveling and I also used a home chipboard piece, because I love being at home too. The sweet and flower piece is from American Crafts. One of my favorite pieces on the spread is the hand drawn yarn and knitting needles.  This was such a fun spread to create!

Get Messy Week 3

Each week I make a spread to tell a story of what I am going through. This week we dropped my brother off at college. He is going on a new adventure and I am so excited for him and all that he will accomplish. So for the left page I painted brown paint and pasted Maggie Holmes tickets and camera on the page. I wrote memories will last a life time and stuck a heart next to it
For the second page, I used an adventure stamp and some paper from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm edition

Get Messy Week 2

I love designing and creating my get messy art journal! For this spread, I just wrote write your story using Martha Stewart's Beach Glass paint
On the next page, using the same paint, I painted triangles on the bottom of the page. Above the triangles I stamped be you. The heart and and picture frame paper is from Dear Lizzy. I wrote on the paper that I am learning that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That week was a tough week for me my mom fractured my arm and I was stressing over my Act test. But I realized that there is a time and a place for everything and that with God all things are possible.

Get Messy Week 1

I am so excited to join Get Messy. To read more about get messy or if you would like to join click here. The journal I decided to use is called a Moleskine journal . I have a smaller one and I love it so I thought it wold be great for my art.
For my 1st page, I wrote this is the start of something beautiful and then put a pink heart next to it. I kept the page simple, but cute.

One of my summer goals this year was to read all of the Jane Austen books. I really enjoyed this quote from the book Sense and Sensibility. I wrote the quote on some blue paper and used Martha Stewart paper tape to embellish the paper. The heart sticker is from Dear Lizzy. On the next page I painted it with some pink paint and pasted a green arrow on it.
